AI Feature to Airbnb: Vacation Planning Made Easy
Airbnb, known for facilitating short-term house or room rentals, has purchased the artificial intelligence system named Gameplanner.AI for $200 million.
This acquisition aims to incorporate an AI-driven “vacation planner” into the app, which will assist in matching users with the most appropriate rooms or homes.
As per a report from The Guardian, Airbnb’s CEO, Brian Chesky, has unveiled plans for a significant overhaul of the platform by integrating generative AI.
This novel functionality is intended to act as a “travel planner,” aimed at improving user experiences by customizing and learning from their preferences and requirements.
Moreover, by the close of September, Airbnb’s market valuation reached an impressive 11 billion dollars.
ALLEGED TAX EVASION IN ITALY
An Italian judge recently ordered the seizure of 779.5 million euros from Airbnb, the well-known app for daily home rentals, on allegations of tax evasion.
The accusation leveled against the company by prosecutors is that it neglected to collect taxes on around 3.7 billion euros in rental income received from property owners. This case poses a considerable legal obstacle for Airbnb in Italy.
